Hello Again,
Just this minute I noticed a new icon in my task bar. Investigating, the tool tip said that I needed to reboot my system for the updates to be effective. This is news to me. Under version 16.04 does the system updater work automatically in the background, instigating updates as and when, or as soon as, they become available?
I agree it is best to keep the system up to date but I prefer the previous 14.04 system where there was a notification in the task bar and you could take the necessary action when it best suited you.
Just a thought, when using my system, I do so as an "ordinary" user without admin privileges. Under 14.04 when updating the system I did so as the admin full privileges user. If the system has been updated whilst I am logged in as Mr Ordinary have the necessary amendments also been made for the administrator user?
Thanks
Roy
