Please NOTE that the "labeling" of "Preview" button in Dolphin is....well......dunno..........
If one clicks it and the "object on the screen" gets bigger, ummm the thumbnail is not there.
If one clicks it and the "object on the screen" gets smaller....ummm the thumbnail is seen.
I just wonder.........HOW MANY posts have been made in the great ocean of Linuxland with people not "seeing thumbnails" and the "button was clicked wrong".
P'raps.............. the whole metro thing is not as "kewl" as it seems....maybe for SOME things there should be a "shadow" to show that it is UP.... dunno, just sayin'....
This is a compilation of pertinent replies and a correction of a mistyping in another thread:
https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...hin+thumbnails
1. ffmpegthumbnailer
2. kffmpegthumbnailer
3. mplayerthumbnaile ---- ( this is actually "mplayerthumbs" in repo)
4. kdegraphics-thumbnailers
plus this command in terminal
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/plugins/ffmpegthumbs.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/
the terminal command will also work with AMD metal.
