KPgp?

When I was running Kubuntu 16.04 with Neon added to the repository I installed KPgp and it ran beautifully, and integrated perfectly into my KMail2.

I reinstalled just Xenial a couple days ago and was supriised tonight to find that KPgp is NOT in the repository. I assume it was in Neon, but I'm not adding Neon to my sources.list.
I looked for a Xenail PPA but couldn't find one.

Anyone know where I can pick up a Plasma 5 compatible version of KPgp?

PS- I tried Kleopatra but if it handles gpg keys then it is doing a fantastic job of hiding it.

and with a new version being prepared in the landing ppa (DO NOT try to install, as it requires dependencies not in the main xenial repos yet, and the ppa is not ready)

That's exactly what I am looking for. However, even with ALL the links in the repository checked, except the source code links, searching for kgpg does NOT show anything. Trying to install it from the CLI also fails:

The six repositories shown in that listing are ALL that was installed from the ISO. Is there another that has to be added manually?

Ugggh! And there it is! No supper for me tonight! I'm so used to Zimmerman's PrettyGoodProtection I instinctively used kpgp. It must have typo'd it correctly when I installed it in Neon. *sneaks away to wipe egg off his face*

That's okay GG. I'm sure that the developers had to reorder the name -- gpg from pgp -- due to Copyright issues.

Nice banter, guys --- I've been grateful for help from all three of you over the years. But I'm not sure where we stand with 16.04 and kgpg. I installed it (using Synaptic) from the repository and find that I can decrypt files previously encrypted (xxxx.asc), but am unable to encrypt any new files. Is help on the way?

My key is 4096 bytes and the last time I used it I had no problems. I'll check tomorrow after I get home from taking my grandson fishing.

Just test encrypted something here and seems ok in 16.04.3

Thanks... My Dolphin "Actions" offers only "Send file as IM..." or "Send as email...," nothing about encrypting.

Trying to run kgpg in a terminal (sudo) produces errors saying that /var/tmp/kde-cache-user and others are owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0. An error box appears telling me that GnuPG failed to start and that I must fix GnuPG errors before Kgpg can run (something like that).

Is there a simple fix for this? uid numbers?

Run Kgpg from the menu setting and in its settings put an icon in the system tray and have it load at login. Run it from the system tray icon.

I just tested encryption/decryption with my fully updated battle sta ... er ... 16.04 installation and both functions work correctly.
