Custom Shortcuts Stop Working

So . . . A few minutes after logging into the desktop, my custom keyboard shortcuts stop working. They work fine for about two minutes. Furthermore, it I open the Custom Shorts config window--Custom Shortcuts -- KDE Control Module -- it behaves very slowly. It takes about two minutes to become usable.

This is a major pain in the ass, as I depend heavily on Keyboard shortcuts in my workflow.

Any ideas?
