LibreOffice Impress Text Animation Dim with color

I am running LibreOffice Version 5.1.3.2 on Kubuntu 16.04 and find that the ability to Dim with color (Text Animation) doesn't work. The test always remains black, (not the desired color). Have tried this on several 64 bit installs on different hardware. If I make a presentation with Kubuntu 16.04 and run it on a 14.04 machine, the animation works as expected.

Does anyone have a workaround?
