    System Tray Networks Entry Issue

Just finished an update/dist-upgrade; my normal daily activity; and something resulted in an issue with the System Tray Networks entry. First, the icon has changed (not really an issue). Second, clicking on the icon, which normally opens the entry, now results in an error:

Anyone else seeing this and know what is causing it and how to fix it?

          Not so here.

What kernel version are you booting from? What Desktop Theme are you using? What Icon Theme?

the kernels I have are ,,,,,,
            Code:
            vinny@vinny-Bonobo-Extreme:~$ ls /boot | grep "vm"
            vmlinuz-4.4.0-18-generic
            vmlinuz-4.4.0-21-generic
            vmlinuz-4.4.0-22-generic
4.4.0-22 was the one that network was broken on for me.

my Desktop theme is "Bare Naked" and the Icon theme is "Breeze Dark"

Well Vinny, I tried Bare Naked and Breeze Dark (Icon Theme) and no change to the error when clicking on the Network icon in the System Tray. I'm using the 4.4.0-22 kernel. I'll reboot into the -21 kernel and see if it makes a difference.

              Added:

Nope. No difference with the -21 kernel. The Network icon in the System Tray still comes up with the error.

Well, I connected wired. Installed wicd, removed network-manager and now all is fine. My computer wifi actually seems faster.

An update has just come through on 14.04 with the change detail of
                    netlink-fix-crash-in-netlink-monitor-validating-netlink-messages.patch:
maybe it's the fix and available for 16.04 also?
