I went through the whole 15.10 release without having automatic spell checking working in Kate. It used to work in releases before then. But it's still not working now that I have 16.04 installed.
To be exact, if I select "Tools -> Spelling -> Spelling..." then it WILL jump to the next typo and come up with the expected replace/ignore dialog at the bottom of the Kate screen. But what is not working is the automatic underlining (with a red squiggly line) of typos as I type. I do have "Tools -> Spelling -> Automatic Spell Checking" checked.
Looking around, I see quite a lot of other people have similar issues, but it does seem to work for others.
(Maybe or maybe not related, I'm also getting the LinearGradient errors reported in https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...nt-quot-errors)
Is anyone aware of a fix for this?
