I received a Security boot fail error with another error that said Kubuntu has been blocked by the current security policy. I have a new Acer laptop that used to boot successfully in secure boot until after todays new linux-headers and grub updates. I have a dual boot with Windows10 and Kubuntu. Now my computer will not boot until I disable the secure boot in the UEFI BIOS. I have Plasma 5.6.5 and Frameworks 5.23 with the back ports enabled. Has anybody else had this problem?

Just a note: I believe the current thinking continues to be that you can safely disable Secure Boot -- it is not necessary to have it enabled. Almost everyone around here disables it. Also, turn off the Fast Boot (in both BIOS and within Windows). An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way. Charles Bukowski

I am told there are two fast boots: one in your UEFI/BIOS settings, and one inside Windows -- Both should be disabled (if that is what you want, which I am told it is OK to disable both). An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way. Charles Bukowski
