I'm using Kubuntu 16.04 with Plasma 5.6.4 and I've run into a little problem. In an attempt to download new wallpapers to see what's out there I get the following error message: Unknown Open Collaboration Service API Error. (0) What is that and how do I fix it?

I've been getting a similar error message too: "Network error. (3)", both in K14.04 and K15.10 when trying to download new wallpapers (also yesterday when trying to download new GTK3 themes in K14.04). Sorry, I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it yet. It will likely be a problem upstream that will be fixed shortly I hope.Desktop PC: Intel Core-i5-4670 3.40Ghz, 16Gb Crucial ram, Asus H97-Plus MB, 128Gb Crucial SSD + 2Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 HDD running Kubuntu 18.04 LTS and Kubuntu 14.04 LTS (on SSD).

I think website (kde-look.org) used for this is not working at the moment, can't seem to download themes, etc either. This happens once in a while.
Looks like the site recently had a major overhaul, so I suspect that they may have broken the "get-hot-new-stuff" integration
Heck I don't even see a wallpapers section there anymore, among the many categories and sub-categories that don't seem to be there anymore.Last edited by claydoh; Jun 21, 2016, 08:48 PM.

Hello Opendesktop.org users and welcome to our Forum.
As some might have noticed, we are in the process of activating some of our social channels again, posting news and updates about whats going on around the OD services. Right now we are in the middle of transitioning opendesktop.org stores to our new servers and also a new backend. All products users and comments should be preserved. All account logins are kept. If you experience any issues, please post them here or send us an email, we're watching out for your feedback and listening. Note that if from time to time some categories or products may not showing up temporarily, don't panic, as everything is being saved and evaluated to be made available again. One of the biggest transitions will be kde-look.org, which will take the most time, since OD resources are tightly integrated into Plasma's GHNS service. The whole transition could take up to another 12-15 weeks. One of the first features of our new backend is a new mutiple files upload service, which should eleminate the need for posting links to 3rd party storages.
Please let us know what you think in the comments,
Your OpenDesktop Team

Thanks acheron for letting us know ... Eeek! "The whole transition could take up to another 12-15 weeks" ... wow, it must be a huge job to take that long (maybe they don't have many people doing it too?).Desktop PC: Intel Core-i5-4670 3.40Ghz, 16Gb Crucial ram, Asus H97-Plus MB, 128Gb Crucial SSD + 2Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 HDD running Kubuntu 18.04 LTS and Kubuntu 14.04 LTS (on SSD).

My original install of 16.04, back in March, would not get new widgets or wall paper. In April I upgraded to plasma 5.6 and both the widgets and wall paper started working again. Earlier this week I searched for and found a widget to give a system tray indication when my caps lock button was pressed. I'll recheck accessibility in a little while.
Edit: seems to work for me!Last edited by GreyGeek; Jun 22, 2016, 01:00 PM."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

I think these changes are a good thing, especially long-term. I'm sure the structural improvements are the result of Frank Karlitschek's selling of the OpenDesktop.org network to Blue Systems*. Hopefully, more (good) changes are coming!

Seems to be working at the moment, as I was able to browse the wallpapers available and even download one without trouble. At least now I know the problem is fixable and more or less out of my hands. Thanks for the replies.
