Hi. My Wifi has been troublesome for months... I can connect no problem for about 1-2 minutes then the internet drops out but does not disconnect. I must disconnect and reconnect manually. All other devices in my residence work perfectly, and the Wifi works just fine when i dual boot windows. Would really love some help with this as it has been very troublesome.

i've actually been stable for a while now... I feel silly but it was dropbox uploading causing this to happen even though it was no more than 80kb/s uploading for some reason it was causing the networking to fail. I tried scaling it back to 20kb/s and its been totally stable. Still can't connect to a 5g network, but at least it's not constant crashing. Should I report this to dropbox or does this seem normal?

It's worth nothing that many times you can get a USB wireless nic on the cheap, many times for $20US or under. Many are shown to have excellent Linux support. You may want to look at this as an option going forward to avoid future headaches, as there are still some wireless chipsets out there that can cause problems.
Ubuntu keeps a user-generated web page regarding performance of different wireless chipsets :https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...CardsSupported
Also, ThinkPenguin stocks networking hardware using only open source drivers. If you went that route, you'd be pretty set w/o worry regarding WiFi. Although not bleeding edge tech (It looks as though standards up through and including Wireless 'N' are supported), should be plenty fast for near any real-world application. Their wireless items can be found here: https://www.thinkpenguin.com/catalog...rking-gnulinux

Then use systemd to restart the network service. (Or log out and back in)"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”
