My system has two HDD's. One has Kubuntu 16.04 installed and working fine in everyway.
I had one problem, editing image files. installed WanDoz 7 pro on another HDD and installed Corel Suite. I was a beta tester for Corel and I have 8, 9 and 10. On this drive I installed Kubuntu 16.04 to see how OS works and co-exists. By this time I had discovered Gimp, a great image editing software. With a little practice I am sure I will be happy and do not need Corel or any other software.
One problem arised after taking a backup on to a USB drive of WanDoz and booted back to Kubuntu with that USB still connected. My net connection stopped working. I cannot understand what has happened. Here are the details of the system that is working ok with ZTE modem working as a wired internet connection. As soon as I plugged in this was auto configured by Kubuntu.
ZTE MF197 USB dongle. Auto configured as below:
connection Status : Connected Primary DNS: 125.22.47.102
Secondary DNS: 59.144.144.46 IP Address: 223.238.252.142
LAN and WLAN Information
Subnet Mask: 266.255.255.0 Gateway Address: 192.168.0.1
DHCP Server: Enabled.
System Information
Software Version : WEB_HCLMF197V1.0.0B03 IMEI : 866710010141155
Firmware Version : BD_HCLMF197HDV1.0.0B01
This system does not have any problem. But if it stops working like the other installation I will have to re-install Kubuntu. I would like to learn by correcting the other installation befor deleting so that I can come out of a situation like this.
I have a NETGEAR WNR614 ROUTER. If I can share ZTE modem which is working as ethernet connection with my mobiles that will be great.
I will be greatful for any guidence to correct this. Thanks in advance.
