Kubuntu 16.04 and blu-ray burner?

I was thinking I might like to get a blu-ray burner just for the large storage capacity of the discs.
Don't plan to watch pre-recorded discs with it, just want to use it for archiving a lot of vacation videos. I can play them later on my regular blu-ray player.
Does Kubuntu 16.04 have any troubles with blu-ray burners?

Anyone care to recommend a brand?
