I have nVidia GTX 1070.
I dual-boot kubuntu and windows 10.
I have latest drivers (368.81 in windows and 367.35 in linux).
Problem is frequency and temperature. In Windows, in idle, card is kept on low frequencies of gpu and memory. So temperature is 40 degrees celsius.
In Linux, any window I open, any click of the mouse, and card goes to high frequency and temperature in idle rises to above 60 degrees.
So how to tell linux not to do that?
In nvidia-settings-powermizer preferred mode is adaptive and it still keeps the card too hot.
Is it the faulty linux driver?
