    Bluetooth audio

So, Kubuntu 16.04 finally has the Bluez 5 stack but this comes with problems of its own.

The A2DP bluetooth sink only works with the following steps each time the headphones are connected. The problem does not happen when the headphones are first paired. Pair them, disconnect and then reconnect for the following to apply:
    1. Connect your Bluetooth headphones
    2. Go to Audio and Video settings (Multimedia) and open the Audio Hardware Setup pane
    3. In the Sound Card pop-up menu, select your headphones
    4. In Profile, select Headset Head Unit (HSP/HFP)
    5. Press apply
    6. Disconnect your bluetooth headphones
    7. Connect with your bluetooth headphones
    8. Go to the Audio and Video settings (Multimedia)/Audio Hardware Setup pane
    9. Select your headphones in the Sound Card pop-up menu
    10. In Profile, select High Fidelity Playback (A2DP)
    11. A2DP now works

Additional gotcha, if you do not play sound for more than (~10 min), audio playback skips and you have to repeat the above steps.

For reference, this behavior happens for the Philips Fidelio M2BT and Braven 850 on an Acer V5-573

If someone has a better solution, or an automatic work-around, I am all ears...

    HMMMM

on Kubuntu 15.10, using a "jam classic" bluetooth, i went through a "similar" setup and when I "tested" the speaker the test worked fine but neither Clementine or Gyauduke produces sound through it...hmmm

    thanks for the heads up!

when you "pair" the "jam-classic" it gets added to the audio choices (like headphones , analog duplex , HDMI) you must make sure the app(Clementine) is outputting to it.

the easiest way I know of is with pavucontrol ,,,,,,,,,

I have the jam-classic it works well @hear

@mortiz this seams to be fixed up stream as i use my BT headphones daily and have not had to change mode since the initial pairing. (Linux 4.4, bluez5, plasma 5.6 qt 5.6 and KF 5.20.0)
