Kwallet automatically opens with the first login, but not with subsequent logins

Hi,

When I login, Kwallet is automatically unlocked without an additional password prompt. However, when logging out and then logging in, Kwallet prompts for a password, but the login password is not accepted.

This is not a problem when locking the screen or suspending and resuming, only after restarting the X server (logout/login). My system is a fresh install of kubuntu 16.04 beta 2.

Please advise of possible remidies.
