Hey! I still have 2 or 3 hundred CD's and DVDs that I haven't used yet, and a laptop which has a DVD/CD burner!

Snoopy sure seems to be excited about something. Let me guess he read Linux Jornale's articles about how Microsoft is porting some of it's major stuff to Linux like SQL and Visual Studios!!!! They are also embedding the Linux command line into Windows 10!!!! Yep Snoopy has a lot to be excited about.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.
Is this the only CD with the problem? Do other CD's display track information? Under Configure Clementine can you find the CDDB server setting? What does it point to?
Under Amarok for Trinity DE it points to freedb.freedb.org what does Clementine say?
I can't find where to configure clemintine. It's version 1.2.3 if that helps. I tried a Gorge Strait cd and that doesn’t show information either.

Microsoft is feeling the "Bern" from the QT API, which can create code for Linux, Windows or Mac. With their wall knocked down they had no choice but to try and compete.
Free and open source. Integrated Git, debugging and extensions.
Its license is not exactly GPL, but VS will fit well with their Bash console in Win10. All of which is an attempt, IMO, to staunch the flow of users from Windows to Linux, especially the developers.

I have Clementine on my Bodhi laptop version 1.2 and just like what your experiencing it is not displaying any track information when playing my CD's. But I do know that Clementine is supposed to do that. I am wondering if it is something to do with how Ubuntu have compiled Clementine. I will try Clementine on another (better) distro later and report back.
