Question Satellite editor

Hello Kubunters,

I have a question, is there an satellite editor for linux?
Because i am waching satellite tv, but i can`t find any editor.
For window$ i had dreameditor from dreambox.
So can somebody help me out.

Do you mean you want to edit the .ts (Transport Stream) files?

I've just started doing this in Kubuntu using KDEnlive. It does a good job too. I can cut out the ads, etc and transcode it into .mp4 files at least a quarter the size of the original .ts files with hardly any noticeable loss of quality. I tried Handbrake too, which did a good job of transcoding the original .ts files (unedited).

DreamboxEdit is supposed to run OK in Wine

Hello all,
Cladoh has right, i meant a list editor that i can use on my sat receiver.
But, i dont wanna use wine, because i don`t wanna use window$.
So my question still stands, ..... is there a satellite list editor particularly for linux.

not that I found, from a somewhat brief search. If these files are simple text files, one could probably use Kate, but something tells that they probably aren't.

Wine doesn't actually run Windows, it is 'pretending' to be, and is sometimes useful for those times that there is no Linux software for a task.

Now that I understand what the original question was I would say you'd be fine using DreamBoxEdit in Wine.

Wine isn't really "Windows" ... it's just a Windows compatibility layer which allows programs written to run on Windows systems to run in Linux (kinda like 'fake' Windows, I guess). I'm continually amazed how well Windows software (some quite complex too) runs in Wine. I use a Windows Bible study program called "theWord" which works extremely well in Wine. I haven't found any Linux software so far that is as good as theWord. Also, some really good Windows games work just fine too in Wine.

OK, So i don`t really need windows, It`s virtual.....
Because i`ve got only linux KUBUNTU on my system, then i will try wine.
