I attempted to install the avg anti-virus software for Linux in order to remove a Windows 7 patch. It was installed in the process of updating to windows 10.
the problem is that the file avg2013flx
is causing errors as follows:
(synaptic:9449): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_child_watch_add_full: assertion 'pid > 0' failed
(Reading database ... 198763 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing avg2013flx (2013.3115) ...
Failed to stop avgd.service: Unit avgd.service not loaded.
invoke-rc.d: initscript avgd, action "stop" failed.
dpkg: error processing package avg2013flx (--purge):
subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 5
Errors were encountered while processing:
avg2013flx
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
I need to get rid of the avg installation. But how do I fix the error?
Any ideas and suggestions, please?
