No Sound from KRDC

I've got a windows vm i remote into for work (uni insists on Lync and Outlook) and can't get sound from KRDC (vm not on local box).

Otherwise sound is working fine.

Any ideas (or what details you need to help)

Still no sound, and can't seem to find anything to explain it. It worked in 14.04 (never tried 14.10 or 15.04)

I have no idea but I'll start the ball rolling ...

Is sound still working in the VM? Is it a VNC session or RDP? Have you tried a different VNC/RDP client to test?

Sound is working in the VM, RDP, haven't tried a different rdp client from these two machines. will see about that

Vinagre (Gnome RDP) doesn't have sound either, but at least there the VM says it can't detect an audio device at the remote connection.

I'd check the hardware setup in vmware then, if the remote player says it cannot detect the VM's audio device.
