A couple days ago, ktorrent decided to stop working. It starts up fine, but it wont find seeders or leachers. Torrents that are known to have thousands of seeders dont even start downloading. I tried purging ktorrent and reinstalling it...did nothing. I tried deleting the config files...did nothing. I played around with all the settings....nothing. Any ideas?

did perhaps turn off the UPnP plugin in Ktorrent ,,,,,if so you would half to manually ford the ports ktorrent is using through your router.
did you change the default port # Ktorrent uses ,,,,,you should some ISP's will throttle the default (6881)

Also, if you suspect your ISP may be limiting or blocking torrent traffic try turning on the encryption settings in Ktorrent.
I had some issues a while back with my torrents refusing to start and one of the things I tried was to turn on the encryption. Seemed to make a difference after that. There doesn't seem to be any downside to turning it on as far as I can tell.
BTW, I just tried going to http://ktorrent.org/ as there is a forum there and it seems to be defunct or been abandoned or perhaps it's been hacked? Here it just comes up with this page:
"This domain was recently registered at Namecheap. Please check back later!

On their kde.org page, they list https://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=18 as their forum ( a general topic for things involving internet stuff).
However, their
still-existing website http://ktorrent.pwsp.net/ lists a more specific forum on forums.kde.org: https://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=233
Also note that the latest version is 4.3.1, which is from 2013.

So I take it that Ktorrent is more or less coasting or no longer maintained much.
I moved to qbittorrent wayback when I ran linux on an imx6 arm mini board, as Ktorrent, and even the normal bittorrent were resource hogs on it. Though it doesn't quite have all the same features as Ktorrent, it has the ones I actually need and use. And is actively maintained.Last edited by claydoh; Nov 19, 2015, 08:15 PM.
