Small bug after updating from backports PPA

Firstly, I couldn't find a bug reporting tool although I'm still drinking my second coffee of the day so I probably missed it.

Symptoms:
Received notification of security updates
Clicked the update button in the notification
Applied updates
Update icon remains in task bar showing updates available.
Clicking icon shows no updates

Expected behaviour:
Update icon should be removed from the task bar.

I don't know if this affects only the PPA or if it also happens in the version it is back ported from.

Simple way to check updates and resolve any problems is to run, in a console
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -f install

This should sort out any failed or outstanding installs and ensure your system is correct. I would doubt that you have (or found) a bug.

Edited original post to show one more bit of information.

No outstanding or failed updates. Logged out and back in and icon is gone. I'll see if it happens again.
