Frustrating. I've done a manual install of Double Commander by extracting its archive and putting it into a special folder named "manualinstalls." The Konsole commands to install this app in 14.04 don't work for some reason in 15.04. No biggie. The app runs via the manual install. I was able to add it to the program launcher via the KDE Menu Editor, and it also runs. However, I cannot get it to let me use the program's included png file as the icon. I can't use any icon that isn't already listed.
I right click and choose Edit Applications; the KDE Menu Editor comes up.
Then I go to Utilities ==> Double Commander (where I've put it into the launcher)
Then I click on that box to pull up the menu for selecting icons. First, it lists System icons, which I don't want, so I click on the radio button "Other icons". I also don't want those, so I click on Browse. Here's where it's frustrating. The Browse button does not browse. No menu for browsing comes up as it does in Kubuntu 14.04 and earlier.
Is this a bug or is there something I'm missing?
Is there some way I could put the png file into "System icons" or "Other icons" so that I can choose it from the menu?
