autoboot Kubuntu-Wine-App ?

For my weather computer....

Currently running XP on my weather computer (it's on 24/7).
If I'm away from home and the power goes off, I have the BIOS set to reboot when the power comes back on and that starts XP and an app called WUHU which uploads data to Weather Underground.

One of the guys on the Yahoo WUHU Users Group says he can run WUHU under Wine.

So can Kubuntu running Wine, be configured to autostart Kubuntu-Wine-WUHU automatically after the mains power has gone down and comes back up?

This is the only thing holding me back from the switch over to Kubuntu on that computer.

If wine creates a menu entry for this (and it usually does), you should simply be able to add it as an autostart item in system settings.

In the Autostart section, you just browse for the program and select the one you want, and you're done.

What weather station hardware do you have? Curious if there is Linux support and apps for it somewhere.

Currently I have an Oregon Scientific WMR968. I have had it for quite a few years and have changed out all the sensors except for the anemometer/direction indicator, several times. They changed the communication (wireless) protocol to the base, which they quit supporting and you can no longer get sensors. I have been running without a rain gauge for some time.

My new system is a Davis Vantage Pro2, but I'm waiting until we complete our move to New Mexico to set that one up.

I believe the Davis unit has an after market piece of software (Linux) that you can build your page around, as well as the Oregon Scientific, but I'm taking baby steps.
WUHU now until it's stable and I feel gutsy and then.....
