    [64Bit]-LSB >= 3.2 Not Available Epson Printer/Scanner Install?

    [64Bit]-LSB >= 3.2 Not Available Epson Printer/Scanner Install?

    Hi,

    I installed Kubuntu 15.04 64Bit and it's fully updated.
    I am trying to install Epson Linux printer/scanner device drivers but I receive the following error message:
    Code:
    Dependency is not satisfiable: lsb (>= 3.2)
    How can I solve above and install Epson drivers?
    Thanks!

    Jesse

    Not sure, as we have lsb 4.1. There are lsb-related packages that are not installed that may help, but which one?

    Which printer? Can you post a link to the file?

      Hi,

      I went to this site HERE and entered "WF-3520".
      I can't link to the individual file so please select the x64 bit deb file.
      ( file is called: "epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.4.5-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb" and is ESC/P-R Driver(generic driver) )

      Thanks!

        Hmmm I almost missed it, but if you scroll down the download page, below the list of files after clicking on "accept"

        http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/du...fd832d75b73aac

        [Notice]
        In order to install these drivers, you need to install LSB package (version 3.2 or later) beforehand.

        Ubunbu:
        # apt-get install lsb
        Double clicking the deb file pulls in all the needed lsb packages, and it seems to have installed here. You probably used dpkg to install this, which does not really handle dependencies automagically. I suggest double clicking the file and letting it do it's thing, or install 'lsb' and then try again.

          Hi,

          Thanks for the help.
          Is LSB 4.1 backwards compatible with LSB 3.2 ?
          If it is then is there a terminal command to force the install of the deb file?

          Thanks!

            yes, it is

            Install the package lsb as directed on the download page, then install the driver package using dpkg as you were doing. Dpkg does not handle dependencies, so once lsb is installed it will install just fine.
