    kde launch freezes on login

Problem comes when laptop wakes up from sleep. I can switch to console terminal. But kde launch hangs.
On restart, the login window appears. On submitting password, the launching progress bar hangs after completing around 80% and stays there forever.
Only way is to restart laptop. However, problem persists and I am helpless. Any help is appreciated ! Its my work laptop.

    on checking kern.log
    I see crashes in libqt5core, libqt5sql.
messages are of the following form:
    $[kwritemanager*] ... segmentation fault ...
    [kwrited] ... segmentation fault ... libQT5core.so
    ...
    Is it helpful info ?

Also, at work, I have additional monitor + docking station (containing peripherals such as keyboard, mouse, lan connection).
When I booted after plugging laptop into docking station, it booted without any issues !

I've been experiencing a similar issue with plasma 5. After a reboot, and after login when plasma is loading and the progress bar is almost at the end, plasma hangs... In my case I believe it is somehow related to adding widgets (comic strip in particular).

The solution that I've found is to reset the plasma config:

          cd ~/.config/
          mv plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc.backup

No widgets for me while plasma 5 is not stable...

I am running kubuntu 15.04 (upgraded from 14.10), plasma 5.3.
