Baloo - is possible to shut off?

Running on a slow netbook, I do NOT need background processes I never use, like Baloo's stuff. I have a desktop indexer that I prefer. Is it possible to just drop Balloo?

All I could find about doing this was for 14.04 - here. I've no idea if that applies to 15.04 or not, and don't have time to experiment.

    Any ideas?

System Settings > Search > File Search, untick "Enable File Search".

      Well, nuts.

I knew this, of course. But when I went to look for it, previously, I simply could not find it. At this point I can't account for this.

In any case, I did just turn it of, with real relief. You response made me "re-search" for it, and that solved the problem.

There's a lesson in there somewhere, I think.....!

      Thanks!
