All the problems I found during yesterdays testing.

    Hallo,

yesterday I tried Kubutu 15.04 and here a list of problems I found, before I gave up.

As for my System:http://mysn.eu/xmg-a504#2 (DIsabling Optimus is not possible in the BIOS) with an additional monitor (1680*1050 over HDMI -> DVI adapter) and USB Mouse/Keyboard

During Installation: (note I used the AMD64 CD downloaded last Tuesday from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/)

    a) Only 1 WAN-Network was found during installation, but not mine even as the acces point was only 2 metre away from my laptop -> no internet connection during install)
    b) The installation skiped the keyboard settings

Ok after the installation I first installed all updates. (On the desktop my wlan network was imidiatly found)

So now for the Problems on the Installed system:
    a)
Bug) In the System-setting under screen settings, there is the option for identical screens, but this setting is not stored after reboot.
Suggestion) And also not when switching monitores the setting is reset, here it would perfect when you could simply set, that all screen use the same settings and the same image depending on the smallest screen.

    b)
Bug) Setting the keyboard layout in the system settings only sets them partially, That goes so far that in the login screen there is another layout than after login (which is very bad when your password contains a letter switched in the
    layout)
Annoyment) The keyboard layout for Germany is not at German (Where the Switzerland layout is) or Deutsch but under de, which is at the end of the list because non lexcialical sorting.

    c)
Bug) In the KDE Partion Manager you can choose to edite a mount point, however there is not button to apply the change. (And closing the WIndows does not store the setting)

    d)
After installing the Properitary driver the GUI no longer worked at all see here: https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...Driver-Manager

And here two Problems I had also in previous Kubuntu version but never reported them so here:

Bug) the setting to ignore the closing of the laptop lit is not wortking unless logged into KDE.
Bug) Grub is not shown at my monitor. If have my TV plugged in it works. The workaround I found for this was set Grub in its configuration to a resolution of 1024x768. Note that if I not use this setting grub shows on my laptop display in just that resolution if the monitor is plugged in. If nothing is plugged in or my TV Grub is shown in Full HD.
