Updated Final Beta vs Final Release

Is it possible to update a Final Beta into the same state as the final release? Do the repositories work normally for Beta installs? Or is it always better to do a fresh install of the Final release?

I've installed the Final Beta on my desktop and laptop. That's no problem, I multi-boot my machines and tend to do frequent installs, although it is my intention to move from using Suse / Tumbleweed as my main work install to Kubuntu. However my housemate has a number of machines (all old) that I need to sort out. I'm wondering whether to put him on to 15.04, so as he can learn the future (plasma 5) rather than the past? He's been using Linux for a longer than I have but he hasn't learnt much, so he's not got a lot of learning that will be redundant. Or should I use 14.10? Is the Plasma 5 + systemd change going to make things a bit unstable for a while? Or even as they are old machines (a couple are 32 bit) would it be better to install the LTS 14.04?

If you install the Beta (or any pre-release version) you do not need to re-install final, just update and upgrade normally.

The relatively minor systemd issues seem to be sorted out now.
