Can not delete index entries in Libreoffice

I have index entries in a LibreOffice file and I cannot delete them. When I select one and click on Edit > Index entry, the window which comes up has no delete or remove button at all.

I know this may not be the right place to post this. I have already posted it on the Libreoffice forum, but in the past I have noticed that it is not nearly so reactive as this one.

Richt click on the index -> Edit Index/Table -> unmark "Protect against manual changes"
