Sometimes when I try to pull up LibreOffice Writer, it complains that my default.ott file is corrupt. The PC also shows other issues. It was refusing to copy and paste to and from the clipboard. VirtualBox also won't load Windows 7. Once I reboot, all these problems disappear. I did notice that the first thing that Kubuntu did was check my hard disk for consistency. Is it possible that my laptop's hard drive is headed for a crash? Or do you think it's a software prob?
If this drive is headed for a crash, I think I want to clone it while I can and then buy and install a drive. It took me about two weeks worth of work to set this thing up how I like it.
