how to delete program icons from the launcher tray

I accidentally added a program to the launcher tray.

Now I have duplicate icons in the tray.

How do I remove one of the duplicates.?

Okay - I just broke down and removed the panel and am creating a new panel.

Now how do I move icons to get the arrangement I had before??

if its a wiget launcher click the cashew on your panel , hover over the item you wish to remove and click the [X] icon.

if its a icon for a launcher just on the panel you should be able to right click and "remove launcher"

I get totally different results from what you write right clicking.

right clicking I get "icon settings" and "Panel Options". nothing about removing anything.

I was able in the past to move icons. I thought left clicking and dragging was how it worked. But that just doesn't work.

Click the cashew on the right end of the panel. The howver over the icon you want to get rid of, you will see a wrench, the word icon, and an X. Click the X, icon gone. you can also click drag the icon anywhere on the panel. Unfortunately, if you drag it off the panel, you will have to add it again as I have never been able to drag it back onto the panel
