    14.10 No Printer Options.

In previous versions of Kubuntu, I can open Printers/Configure/Printer Options, & change my print to Draft from Standard on my Epson Stylus DX7450.
Now though in 14.10, when I go to printer options/configure, there is a box "query printer for default options" which when pressed, I get "sending data to printer". Nothing happens thereafter.
    Any help please.

try using the CUPS control panel. to configure the device.
open a web browser and go to http://localhost:631 when prompted for a usr/password use your local account info.

i have several printers that don't repost their status correctly but still work. that may not be an issue you could just have a bad ppd or that printer installed several times at different ports confusing CUPS.

Ok. I have resolved this matter myself.
But for anyone else having this issue, the package "system-config-printer-gnome" needs to be installed to be able to access all the configuration options.

edit.. Sithlord 48 you must have posted just as I resolved this problem. Thanks anyway.

This must be because of your Epson printer software. I have no issues configuring my HP printers without any gnome utilities.
