No image when playing DVD [with vlc]

Kubuntu 14.10 64 bits (installed from the scrtach)

I already installed libdvdnav, libdvdread, libdvdcss (firstly download .deb from the ubuntu repository and after using the install-libcss script (after purging the frist one)), ubuntu-restricted-extras and kubuntu-restricted-extras.
The region is properly set and the region of the media is compatible with it.
Also, the media is playing well in Windows 8 in the same computer.

The problem: when I open the media on VLC, the sound is OK but there is no image (just a black rectangule).

I have no clue about what to do now. Any suggestion?

What kind of hardware do you have ?

I was using "automatic" as OUTPUT and everything orked when I changed to "Xvideo".
I dont know the reason, but worked.

Just to cmplete the information here: I have a Asus All-in-One with a Nvidia Graphic Card (Geforce GT 720).

New question: vlc are not playing any subtitle (neither from the dvd itself or from a external file).

Any ideas?
