    File chooser Broken

I tried to upload a picture. When I try to open the Pictures folder it tries to upload instead of opening the folder. It works in later versions of Kubutu, but this is an old laptop and there are lots of firmware errors in later versions from dmesg. Is their a supported 14.04 repo that has packages for a more updated version of the upload chooser. I don't know the name of the program. I tried using dolphin to drag and drop the file. That doesn’t work.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

How exactly are you trying to do this? Is this through a web page?

Could be a problem with that website. Have you tried uploading pictures on other sites?

Yes it seems to be a big problem probably with 14.04. To bad the newer version won't work on my notebook. I would'nt mind if I only could use 16.04 but it won't run on this machine. Technically even 14.04 still has a few dmesg errors.Any earlier versions are EOL.

Do you think it could be some type of file association error? Because I could probably fix that easily. I just need to know the name of the program and I could adjust the file extension. Maybe its improperly associated with file folders.

Can you upload pictures on this site? Can you navigate to pictures in the normal file browser? Im wondering if its your computer or that sites file uploader.

I can not upload files in subdirectorys. Including on this web site! as I said above, I can use dolphin to go to subdirectorys. That only works on a site that lets me drag and drop files.

Can you navigate to the pictures you want using the normal file manager (not through a website)?

Sound like a browser problem. Have to tried a different browser? There's no "uploader" program I know of that KDE would insert into this equation.

I think this is a problem with firefox 55.0.2 ,,it is happening @hear on this site ,,,,,,I click reply ,,,,,click the "insert image" in the text input tool bar ,,,,,on the "from computer" tab click select files ,,,,,,,immediately a "adoby flash " has crashed bar will open at the top of the window just under the URL bar ,,,,, you can X it out (far right) now in the "insert image" dialog box ,,,on the bottom right ,,,,,you can click "basic uploader" then browse and a file browser will open that works .

this is only tested on the forum hear .

Unfortunately, I never get the option to use the basic uploaded so this fix doesn’t work for me. At least some one else can see there is a problem and its not just my computer. Which version of kubuntu are you using?

Im using 55.0.2 as well and have no problems. Are you guys blocking scripts or anything? Might be worth trying to start Firefox in safe mode to see if it works then. If so, its probably a plugin that is causing the issues.
