    okular cant open large files

    Hi everybody thank you in advance.
    I am running a desktop kubuntu 14.04, everything worked smoothly until some point. I often work with big pdf files with tons of images which usually reach about 20 MB. suddenly okular freezes whenever i try to open one of those files. I can open them with for example evince, and okular can open smaller files, less than 1 MB.
    I tried deleting ~/.kde4/share/apps/okular. I even purged and resintalled okular. What could possibly be wrong ?
    thanks for your help ?

    Open a Konsole and launch Okular from there. When Okular is running, open one of your big pdf files "with tons of images" that has been causing Okular to "suddenly freezes". IF it freezes, copy and paste the Konsole output here in a reply.

      sorry for the delay. here is the output at the console:

      okular(3899)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::write
      okular(3899)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::write
      okular(3899)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::write
      okular(3899)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::write
      okular(3899)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::write

      and okular window just freezes with a blank content. here the screenshot:

        Ok just to call everybodys attention: I tried the same files en freshly installed system (same kubuntu) and everything works fine. might there be some dependency problem ? which dependency? what can I remove to test ? tried purging every package that also depends on okular dependencies ( krita, gimp, inkscape, etc) but had no luck. This is really annoying because I would really want to avoid reinstalling my office machine, because everything else works fine. What should I be testing ?

          oook here is a thing. FInally I reinstalled the system , fresh new kubuntu 14.04.3, that was the iso I had at hand. everything was fine, but when I connected through ssh , there was a warning about hardware enablement stack, which invited me to install the following packages:
          libwayland-egl1-mesa-lts-xenial libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-xenial xserver-xorg-lts-xenial libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-xenial:i386
          so i did installed them. after restarting, okular had the same issue again. Of course, reverting these changes cleanly must be close to impossible, so I will repeat the the installtion with the 14.04.05 iso. here is the apt-get log for analysis (this should be a bug).
