Fails to boot after updating to 14.04.3

    Hi,

My Kubuntu fails to boot complaining on not being able to mount / after upgrading using the following

    sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-lts-vivid xserver-xorg-core-lts-vivid xserver-xorg-lts-vivid xserver-xorg-video-all-lts-vivid xserver-xorg-input-all-lts-vivid libwayland-egl1-mesa-lts-vivid

command, but boots just fine with the previous kernel.
Any help will be much appreciated.

It says "An error occurred while mounting /.".

"vivid" is 15.04 not 14.04.3. 14.04 is "trusty". I wouldn't install video subsytems or kernels from two releases ahead and expect it to work.

It is supposed to work, that is from the LTS hardware enablement stack, which iirc is used by default in 14.04.2 and onward. Whether it actually does work, I dunno. Not sure which newer kernel is default, though
