Blue Shell Firefox Stopped being Updated?

I noticed that the blueshell firefox has been stopped being updated... and am not sure what to do?

I noticed there was a warning saying WARNING : MOVED TO https://launchpad.net/~moz-plasma on the blue shell ppa page. What steps do I have to do to correct my setup?

    Much appreciated any help.

ps. here is the original blue shell ppa site

Remove the blue-shell ppa and add the moz-plasma ppa.

If you pinned Firefox to the blue-shell ppa with a file in /etc/apt/preferences.d, remove that or adjust it. There was a post here in another thread that the moz-plasma folks were naming the packages such that pinning shouldn't be needed.

Then update and dist-upgrade / full upgrade.

There might be Other Ways, but:

        Code:
        $ sudo rm /etc/apt/preferences.d/whateveryoucalledit

The danger is that you're using a version that's delayed. For instance, the current version of Firefox is 37.0.1. That repository has version 36. Every release fixes some critical and high security flaws. Personally, I'd rather have a secure browser than a pretty one.

Turns out all I had to do was go to software sources and remove the blue shell ppa's.

Then do this to install the kde friendly version of firefox.

            sudo add-apt-repository ppa:moz-plasma/releases
            sudo apt-get update
            sudo apt-get install firefox-plasma thunderbird-plasma

Thanks for the help guys! Great to see the firefox still running nicely in kde land. Even if it is one version lagged.

Hey anybody know what is going on with the "moz-plasma" releases? They haven't released in a long time. Though I found a "plasmazilla" that seems to being keeping updated. So I am confused

I ended up installing the plasmazilla one and it updated to firefox 38.

Though I had to follow these instructions so the UI was a normal size

ps. it is incredible how much faster Firefox 38 is compared to previous versions on linux.

                  Thank for information, i tried
                  Code:
                  sudo add-apt-repository ppa:plasmazilla/builds
                  and i disable https://launchpad.net/~plasmazilla.
And Firefox is update to version 39.

Are you sure you've got 38? I disabled mozplasma, added the plasmazilla one (ppalasmazilla/builds), and got Firefox 39 last Tuesday.

I didn't have that problem; I use an appearance add-on (littlefox, minimizes everything it can, I love it) so I might have avoided it.

Just to help alleviate some confusion, there are three PPA's associated with the plazmazilla team:

                      . ppalasmazilla/archives - contains older builds
. ppalasmazilla/builds - seems to contain the most recent builds (currently Firefox 39), although the PPA descriptor says "CI Builds (don't add this PPA, but use "stable" PPA)"
. ppalasmazilla/releases - this is the PPA they recommend, but it is currently one Firefox release behind (version 38 as of today).

Replace the smileys above with the two characters : and p

Hmm... can anybody think of any downsides to using the builds ppa? Possible breakage?

ci are automated builds, so they might have more of a tendency to be broken.

The blue shell packages were often a touch behind, as well. As firefox changes, the hacks required and theming bits can change as well, so when it breaks, they have to go in and find out what was broken and find how to fix it.

Thank you, clearly I was confused. I've been using the builds ppa for a week, and I did have a weird sound failure once, though it was flash related so I presumed it had nothing to do with the Blue Shell mods. Firefox is much more stable for me now than it was a few months ago.
