keyboard dead after upgrade to kernel 3.13.0-45

Yesterday I did a apt-get update/upgrade/dist-upgrade.
That installed vmlinuz-3.13.0-45-generic.

Rebooted today, to see that the login screen doesn't accept any key strokes.
Actived guest login, started xterm, again no key strokes accepted.
Rebooted in recovery mode, here keyboard worked.
Continued boot from recovery mode, now login possible, but characters distorted.
Rebooted again, no key strokes accepted in login.
Booted previous kernel, 3.13.0-44, login fine.

After a few more trials:
--> with 3.13.0-45 I can't login
--> with 3.13.0-44 all is fine.

Did anybody have similar problems ??

Not the same problem but with newest kernel I do seem to not be able to wake up my system with my keyboard or mouse. This is not a resume from suspend, only wake up monitors from off state is not happening so I cannot continue running sessions.

Edit- Scratch that... I tried the previous kernel and it still giving me a problem. So I have another problem.

Type of keyboard??

A rather old one with a PS/2 interface. The PC has PS/2 ports, so it's
connected directly, not via an USB adapter.

The keyboard is ok, it does work
- when used in recovery mode under 3.13.0-45
- when used under 3.13.0-44

My kb is a ms wireless desktop 3000 and I have this problem still even with various tweaks, including the resetmsmice package which does help with the scroll on the mouse.


Can someone point me at the energy saving related file or whatever it may be called that contains some type of "power off monitors after x" within the user directory?
I would like to try removing it and recreating it new and cannot seem to locate it.
