Vertical Left Panel That Takes Entire Vertical Of Desktop?

    Hi,

Running Kubuntu 14.04 L.T.S. 64Bit fully updated on my main development desktop.
I am having some trouble creating a new vertical panel on the left that takes entire vertical of desktop.

I can do this just fine on my thin client with Xubuntu 14.04 L.T.S. 64Bit as shown in the screenshot below.
How can I do the above on Kubuntu 14.04 L.T.S. 64Bit?

    Thanks!

    Jesse

Are widgets 'unlocked' so you can size the panel?
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

I think you need to unlock widgets as Snowhog suggested and then click on the "cashew" symbol on the panel. A menu bar will pop out of the panel. From there, click "more settings" and then you can play around with options like "maximize panel" and "windows can cover" to get the ideal settings.

        Hi,

I tried that, but I can't make the left vertical panel the entire size of the vertical desktop?
Am I trying to do something that is impossible in Kubuntu 14.04 L.T.S. 64Bit?

Did you try to drag the edges down to expand it?

            Hi,

Maybe I do something wrong, but I can't make the panel height the same as the desktop?
            See screenshot below.

              Hi,

Finally, I got a panel on the left side of the desktop.
All I had to do is create a new top panel and then create another panel which is shown on the left.
Then all I had to do is delete the new top panel.

              Thanks!

Looks like the initial spawning of the panel was out of alignment with the rest of the desktop.
Seen that a time or two.
