2 bizarre problems [possibly due to upgrades?]

Recently two strange things have started happening in my Kubuntu...

    1. Whenever I mount a volume (USB stick, external HD), when I try to eject it Dolphin won't let me, telling me an app is using the device, even though the only app using it is Dolphin itself!
    2. As of a few days ago, Juk segfaults immediately every time I open it, so I've had to resort to playing music using VLC.

The only thing on my system that's changed recently is software updates!

I've seen this ever since I installed Kubuntu, unlike the almost-instant eject available in Mepis 11. I've found that there appear to be a timer (possibly a wait for cache commit?); if you wait a minute or so, you'll then be able to eject the device. If this is a cache commit wait, it might either be possible to change a setting so that cache commit is triggered by an unmount request, or manually commit the cache.

Can't help you with this one; I don't think I've ever used Juk (I don't play music much on my main computer, and my others use antiX, on which I use xmms, with streamtuner2 if I want to play a stream that isn't directly accessed by browser).
