Hello!
I'm asking for an on-screen keyboard. So far I had been using KVKBD but it just won't show up in muon package manager. KAccessibility once depended on it, but now, it can do without a virtual keyboard
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=kvkbd
So why was it thrown out? What alternatives do you recommend?
So far I tested that plasma-widget which just does not react to mouse clicks other than steeling the focus of the application, I want to type to. In addition, it's stuck to the desktop and cannot overlay any application window. This is a total fail!
Inside KDE I got xvkbd ... this almost does the job, but it just looks ugly and it won't minimize to tray as kvkbd would.
An interesting question on it's own is, how to log in, using a virtual keyboard?
KDE allows to activate plasmawidgets on the screensaver ... very nice idea, but so far I could not get a single keystroke out of that widget. The configuration is a joke by itself: I can assign a key-stroke to it
On another computer with Gnome/Ubuntu I saw lightdm just yesterday displaying a virtual keyboard ... but on my Kubuntu lightdm just has no button/option, to activate it?
*puzzled*
