Konqueror and Dolphin are creating Zombies!

Konqueror AND Dolphin are leaving zombies in the task/process queue whenever a different directory is selected for
either of them to display. I really don't think this is normal behavior.
What must be done to stop this behavior? (aside from not using konqueror or Dolphin to actually
display different directories) The zombies do get removed when Dolphin or Konqueror get closed.

It 'happens' but doesn't create any really issues. I ignore it, or remove the zombies via the CLI.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

I have found Zombie Threads are mainly caused by a parent process that didn't exit out properly. CTRL+ESC and in the upper right switch the view to TREE. Now you can see which parent is supporting the zombies. If you don't need the process left open force it to close and the zombies will go away. Otherwise they are mostly harmless and never feed on brains.

All well and good, but this was NOT happening under V13.04 of Kubuntu!

I know what zombie processes are. Press CTRL+ESC in what program, pray tell? The question remains, what changed in V14+ of Kubuntu to cause Konqueror and Dolphin to generate zombies when it did not happen in V13.04?

It could be a bug preventing the parent from reaping, but if it is, I can't reproduce it (dolphin behaves normally on my end). Of course there might be reasons why it happens on your machine and not on mine.

Have you tried creating a new user (with clean configs) to see if the same happens there, this should rule out possible config issues?

Press CTRL+ESC in what program, pray tell?
Ctrl+Esc (anywhere) just brings up the process monitor.

I fixed the problem by deleting .kde/share/config/konquerorrc and .kde/share/config/dolphinrc
