KMail Prompting for KWallet Password Despite PAM Integration

I understand KWallet in 14.04 is integrated with PAM. If a user's Kwallet password is the same as the password used to log in to the system, then KWallet should not post password requests.

Passwords are identical here. Yet, KMail triggers a KWallet password request each time it is launched after a new login.

Is a specific configuration needed to enable this PAM integration?

You can set a blank password on KWallet, so it doesn't ask for a password when you launch an application.

Yes, but this is something else. Very new. Much like what Gnome does with its keyring. The wallet is supposed to be unlocked automatically at login.

I'm haven't heard of this. Maybe someone that has more knowledge about this can reply.

I found this, but I can't validate the accuracy.
        Unlocking KWallet with PAM

        Here is a bug report.
Bug 92845 - KWallet should use PAM to make single-sign-on possible
