    Broken User

I installed Kubuntu 14.04 on a new System 76 Laptop. That part worked great. Set it all up for my wife. I added a new user for me it appeared to work correctly. Tried to switch to the user and got password not correct (it was) checked the home folder and there was no user folder. Went to system setting to check on user and it did not show up at all. I added a third user with different user name and it worked perfect logged in no problem. Now everytime I get to the log in screen after reboot all three users are there but only two will work. I can't find any way to remove the broken user as it does not show up in user manager or anywhere except the login screen. How do I remove this broken user?
    Thanks John

    I would...

    1) I would file a bug against the User Manager - if you are using it ?: http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/user-manager

    2) I would install the KUser: http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/kuser

    3) I would try to repair the 'users' with the KUser.

OT but I just checked out the System76 website. Very nice site.

Which brand of computers do they use? Toshiba, Sager or another?

Their computers are Haswell based. Here is a list of the top five Haswell based computers, according to PC World:

Last fall my son bought a Gazelle Pro, their middle computer. He loves it!

My Gazelle Pro (gazp6) is the equivalent of: Clevo P150HM, maybe HMX, Sager NP8150.

It is 2+ years old, so GreyGeek's information is more recent.

Mine is the Kudu Professional with an I7, 256GB mSATA and 500GB 7200rpm Harddrive 16G memory. So far runs great. I dumped the Ubuntu and installed clean Kubuntu as soon as I touched it. Installed perfectly. Only issue was the user and that was a User Manager issue not the computer. Only had for a few days now but so far best laptop I have owned.
