    Problem with touchpad management

    Hi

seem to have a problem with touchpad management.

I've set it to disable the touchpad when a mouse is plugged in.

When you first plug a mouse in the touchpad is disabled.

when you disconnect the mouse the touchpad is re-enabled.

so far all as expected, but...

When you next plug a mouse is, the touchpad isn't disabled.

the "disable" then won't work until a reboot.

    any ideas?

    Further update to this......

After the mouse has been reconnected (but the touchpad NOT disabled), if you leave it for maybe 10 minutes, then unplug the mouse and replug it back in, the touchpad management "sees" the mouse and disables the touchpad.

So it does work but is very slow to react.

Once again, any of you expert guys have any comments?

    Cheers

    Sam

That is not the experience here. With the mouse plugged in the touchpad is disabled. Unplug the mouse and the touchpad is enabled. I can repeat this sequence as often as I want and the touchpad behaves as it's supposed to. I have kde-touchpad installed.

My Touchpad will not work after a reboot or power off until I plug a usb mouse in and select the check box to disable and apply then unselect it and apply I get a tone and my touchpad works great until the next reboot/power off. Will not stay selected. Good thing I have a little mini wireless keyboard makes it easy but still a pain. Touchpad works perfect in 1410 and 1310.

Hm. Sounds worthy of reporting a bug on this one. Please run: apport-bug kde-touchpad. Let the collector gather what it wants. Eventually a page will open in Launchpad, where you can describe the problem. Please add the tag kubuntu before you submit it.
