I have to admit, when it was announced Trusty would be using KDE 4.13.0, I was a tad nervous with it being in beta at the time and all. But, am I ever pleased with the results.
The extra-surprise bit of nice for me is "KDE Connect" in the repositories. I have been having a ball playing with my tablet and my KDE desktop. Sure is handy!

I also am very happy with this release. I had some minor hiccups with 'language setting' at first and I couldn't use any text related apps, office etc.
The next day I got a notice on my task bar to fix this and after that it was smooth sailing.
What I came here to say though was that my video card, an ASUS HD4770 using mesa is running 20F cooler since upgrading from Kubuntu 13.10.
It went from 157F-162F to 137F-142F with a room temp of 77.8F-82.8F. It follows room temp exactly.
Has anybody else seen this kind of a change since going from 9.2.1 to 10.1.0 Mesa? A very pleasant surprise indeed.
CPU runs at the same temp it did, all 4 cores.

For my card I had to addCode:radeon.dpm=1
You can check if dpm is working with this command:
Code:sudo cat /sys/kernel/debug/dri/64/radeon_pm_info
Code:uvd vclk: 0 dclk: 0 power level 0 sclk: 45000 mclk: 50000 vddc: 950

I updated my Kubuntu 13.10 to 14.04. The only problem was for some strange reason I had the LightDM login instead of KDM, which turned out to have gone missing after the upgrade. However a quick trip to Synaptic Package Manager soon fixed that.
Don't know if KDE is just serious about us using LightDM, or maybe the fact my computer also has Fluxbox, LXDE, and Xfce installed confused the updating process. But I'm a happy camper now!KDE Rules!

I am not one of the happy customers. I upgraded on my desktop from 13.10 (which ran fine) to 14.04 and it is the slowest OS I have ever had. Everything takes ages to load and run, files don't open easily, and it is almost impossible to use. I'm going to try a clean installation and see if that does the trick. If not, back to 13.10. My system is an i3, with a 500 gb hard drive. This is the only time I've had a completely negative experience with a new upgrade.

I upgraded to Trusty over Easter weekend (It was at my place so I could let it upgrade while I was visiting). So far everything is working just fine. There was a hiccup in getting kdm to upgrade but I resolved that easily enough. The unjust distribution of goods persists, creating a situation of social sin that cries out to Heaven and limits the possibilities of a fuller life for so many of our brothers. -- Archbishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires (now Pope Francis)

I'm one of the happy user. I even wiped my hard drive yesterday and I was going back to arch, but something changed my mind again and did a reinstall of Kubuntu today. It is a really good release and i'm not even missing the fglrx-legacy since the open source radeon driver feels really good.
