        Also, you have ~/.bashrc, the bash config file. In it you can tell it how many commands entered on the command line to store:

        ...
        # don't put duplicate lines or lines starting with space in the history.
        # See bash(1) for more options
        HISTCONTROL=ignoreboth

        # append to the history file, don't overwrite it
        shopt -s histappend

        # for setting history length see HISTSIZE and HISTFILESIZE in bash(1)
        HISTSIZE=1000
        HISTFILESIZE=2000
        ...
        Another file, ~/.bash_history, contains the last HISTFILESIZE number of commands entered. You can use Kate to capture lines for documentation purposes, or for posting to the forum. It sure beats trying to remember them or writing them down.

            Code:
            sudo apt-get autoremove --purge
            just go ahead and select no after it prints out the info untill we think on it

                                After entering Yes, sure hope the first word "Found" in the listed results does not mean "found and removed". It's "finding" several -97 / -98s. Even a few -59s which I thought were gone.
