It looks like there is a corrupt file system in 14.04.5 LTS as distributed in the i386 desktop iso.
A 'sudo du .' command from sys/kernel will show the problem. Has anyone found a way to fix it?
The checksums on the download have been validated. Write the iso as is to a DVD and boot.
