Problem Log: Core Funcion Errors; Multiple machines

    All,

Kubuntu 14.04 is sooooooooo unstable. I started a log of the issues, since none of the 8 machines I run, all upgraded from the same LiveDVD, are the same. All were the same on 12.04, but 14.04 has real issues.

I know there are some patches to apply, but do not know how to find/apply, so any help here appreciated.

Put the log in PasteBin at:

    Cheers!

when you say "all upgraded from the same LiveDVD" what exactly do you mean?

a clean fresh install ,,,,,some kind of attempt at upgrading using the DVD as a source ,,,,,,,what and exactly how .

many of these are likely configuration related - samba, mysql, webmin, etc, but without specific errors, how can we tell? Maybe the configs have changed enough between the 2 releases? I dunno

Teamviewer is a third party program, but without more info, we can't tell what is going on. If you are trying to install a "64 bit" package, don't. Ubuntu is now fully multi-arch, so you just install the 32 bit package, which is the one offered for download from them. The 64 bit packages were there solely to depend on the 32 bit library package that no longer is needed or available

System Monitor - do you mean KSysGuard?

Transcribe - no idea what that is, for sure. Transcriber as found in the repos, or this - again, needs more info

"Other packages do not correctly install from master setup script" -again, not enough info. My guess is that this list is from 12.04? Very likely that packages have been renamed, removed, or replaced between releases. A good number of these that won't install are likely safe to ignore.

Panel icons not saving position - could be a corrupt config file, but it also could be an artifact from running graphical stuff using sudo in place of kdesudo, or anything that involves ownership/privilege changes or differences. Does removing and replacing the panel fix it?

I think that 14.04 is waaayyyyyy more stable than 12.04, from my own experiences. What has not been stable for you is the upgrade
