Trying to be helpful

I joined the forum today in order to post about a problem with Kubuntu 14.10 which got solved. I'm having difficulty with the post as every time I try to review it, I'm told that I can't post links as my post count is 0. The only problem is that my post didn't contain a link. So I'm posting this hoping that I'll then be able to post the problem and its solution.
